What should I do if my water heater is leaking from the top?

If your water heater is leaking from the top, power it down, shut the water, and call a pro. We diagnose top leaks at fittings, flexible supply lines, and the T&P or anode ports. In Tulsa, we offer same-day repairs or fast replacement, plus leak detection and any needed piping or gas-line work.

  • Switch off breaker, or set gas control to off/pilot.
  • Close the cold-water shutoff valve above the heater.
  • Do not cap the T&P relief valve.
  • Take photos and use a pan/towels to contain water.
